Nighttime in the Clinic was a cryptic time. The hollowed walls were completely black to preserve battery power. It kept the rooms solidly in the dark, and Akane entered one of the rooms that had nothing inside of it. She slowly entered with some basic supplies, including several candles, incenses and incense holders. The woman adjusted her glasses as she entered, and removed the majority of her garments, stripping down to only her bra and boyshorts. Akane slipped into a comfortable green, black-lined silk kimono that tied around her body. She tightened the sash, knowing that she was going to emerge from the empty room living in her future.

She made sure that her future would come ceremoniously. Akane laid out four incense holders in a square, placing the sticks of incense into each of the holders and carefully lighting them. Using the same tinder used to light the incense, she lit the candles, which stained the room in a gentle purple glow. The medical-nin entered the lotus position, bringing her hands together in her lap. She looked inwards to herself, feeling her chakra move as the incense burned slowly, different fragrances blending together. It was overpowering, but it smelled good. If she couldn't stand mere incense, how could she stand the challenges that would stand in her way in the future?

Inside of her, she saw her inner demons: her cowardice, sloth, and inability to hold feeling with her fellow ninja. The cowardice that she sought to exorcise from her heart could be found through facing her darkest fears: fighting. The only way she could exorcise the inner demon of sloth was to fight other ninja as well as metaphorically fight the injuries her fellow man sustained. Her inner demon of sloth could only be exorcised by learning the importance of can-do functions -- efficiently dealing with the tasks given to her without any shortcuts. Finally, the only way she could learn to hold feelings with her fellow ninja and empathize would be to stop locking herself up in her clinic. Only by exorcising each of these inner demons could she possibly find the willpower and ability to create the Hyakugou Seal.

'Why fight like an assassin when you can die honorably on the field of battle?' she asked herself, looking inwards. Her byakugan was deactivated, and if anyone came into the clinic, she'd be clueless unless they made enough noise to alert her. 'Because ninja are not samurai. This is why I cannot fight as the other ninja do. I have found this conclusion and I hold it close to my heart, unlike the Kage and the higher Jounin.' Her eyebrows furrowed as she leaned forward gently. Akane's nose flared as she inhaled the scents of the incense.
'The ninja of our village need to learn to fight with caution like the snake, not the tiger. They may hold the will of fire, but they need to learn the patient habit of water.'

With her inner cowardice justified for her own reasons, she could cast aside the sin. She looked to her sloth, and drew examples: relying too much on chakra to heal the wounded alongside running away from combat when not immediately engaged, as had happened not too long ago alongside the Kage, her Kage. 'Ninja may do their best to justify their own reasoning, but there is no reasoning when it is put up against incredible odds. The village must wait until its manpower is superior to all numbers before sending ninja out on their missions. A ninja to assassinate one man must have enough back up to fall back on in event of retreat, or worse yet, critical mission failure. Why send one shinobi against five ninja when you can sent enough ninja for combat and logistical support?' Her conclusions may have been debated, but she laid her case to rest. Her sloth was justified in that the village did not have enough forces to maintain steady operations.

Finally, her incompatibility with the other ninja. For the longest time, she felt as an outcast -- a foreigner from the Hidden Mist Village. It was only when she unearthed her family history that she understood what had occurred between the Hidden Mist Village's people and their ninja and her family that she could properly justify her hatred for them, but why did she console with the Hidden Leaf Village for support? 'Konohagakure is just as different from her as is the hateful people of Kirigakure, so why loan Konogakure her support?' Thoughts rushed through her head, but she fell back on to tracks: why was she supporting coming together with the ninja of Konohagakure? Because they were her friends, that's why. The epiphany hit her with a sharp inhale. She did not laugh, she did not cry. Akane would learn through meditation, and strict discipline would teach her.

The time came for her to begin the true ritual, having justified all of her inner qualms. 'A chakra seal.. on my forehead.' she accepted the challenge, and summoned forth all of her chakra control. She did small amounts of exercise. Her legs and arms became weak as she slowly pooled almost all of the chakra from her limbs into her upper torso, the primary source of her chakra. 'It's time for this to happen.' Akane slowly tensed up her muscles, doing all she could to keep herself upright. She inhaled the incense and her eyes were dimly lit by the candles she brought into the room.

The kunoichi began the process. The Hyakugou Seal, aptly named for its ability to be the strength of one hundred shinobi's chakra, would open up the route for much, much more incredibly powerful jutsu, rivaling even that of the Kage in its final form. The meditative medical-nin wasn't entirely sure of all of its power, nor what it could do. Akane carefully pushed almost all of her chakra from her chest into her forehead, going up into her brain and not quite reaching the forehead. Her head was racked in pain, and Akane's brow furrowed in heavy pain. "N.. Ngh!" she growls.

The chakra pooled into her forehead, and she growled even more. "Nnghh!" Akane was in excruciating pain. 'Pain is merely weakness.. leaving the body!' she insisted, attempting to power through the incredible amount of chakra squeezed into one of the smallest areas it could possibly be in her body. Eventually, it started to loosen. 'N.. No!' "No!" 'It's leaving my forehead..! No!' she felt as the chakra began to dissipate, until.. "Gah!" she barked, gasping loudly. The chakra was forming a seal on her forehead -- a purple rhombus! She bit her lower lip, drawing blood, even. However, as the seal was created, chakra flowed into it. She felt a gaping hole form in her chest, where her chakra stemmed from. It ran up and into her chakra seal. Her chakra was entering the seal, and it felt apparent then that she could not open the seal. 'W.. Why? Why is the seal there? Why can't I access it?' Akane was confused -- she made the seal, why could she not tap into its masterful chakra reserves?

Akane slowly exited her reverie. Her ears were ringing from the traumatic experience of forming a seal that could not be accessed. She slowly clambered up and out of her room. She blew out the incense and candles, and slowly exited the room. 'I failed. Why? Why has this happened to me? I can barely feel my chakra in my body.. it's.. it's all in the seal.. but..' Akane threw her head against the wall. 'W.. WHY?!' she screamed, which would echo around Konohagakure at her potentially cursed seal. Akane was unaware, however, that the seal could be accessed, and simply required an incredible amount of training and mastery.
