Akane, at her meditative waterfall, began to look inward on herself. She realized what she had done at the bridge and some. The medical-nin, on her first A-Rank mission, had murdered several individuals utilizing her poison mist jutsu. When she exited her Byakugan, the incoming realization of the weight of her actions had forced her to vomit off of the bridge, something that would have most likely been deemed unacceptable by the kage of the village. She felt disgusted with herself; the ninja she had killed most definitely had a life, similar to her own. She frowned despite her meditative state, implicating her guilt for her murder.

It was only a few minutes from there that the medical-nin had come to a conclusion. 'I will develop a nonlethal mist jutsu.' she thought to herself. Slowly opening her eyes, she had realized from the time she had first arrived at her meditative waterfall that it was about nighttime. She had spent enough time warping chakra and attempting to create a reservoir seal that she had inadvertently spent the entire day at the waterfall. She felt a calling, 'I should return home,' 'It isn't necessary to stay here for too long.' However, either against or with her better judgment. she decided. 'I will stay here until I have perfected my inner self.'

Akane, with her back to the sunset, climbed up from her lotus position meditation, stretched her legs, and removed her gourd of water. 'The jutsu is based off of my own chakra. Therefore, it was me who poisoned them, not the poison itself.' The ninja looked at the waterfall, and upon making sure it was clear of all animals in the vicinity, summoned forth her chakra to spill out her standard Dokugiri - Poison Mist jutsu. The poisonous purple smog was carried into the waterfall, and dispelled with the rushing water. Akane carefully examined how her chakra interacted with the jutsu to create its deadly effect, pondering on how it could be improved.

The medical-nin began to draw conclusions about how her chakra interacted after testing the Dokugiri - Poison Mist jutsu several more times. As her chakra was tied to how she used the jutsu, it became apparent that her chakra would need to change for her to use the poison mist jutsu, by either reducing its lethality or underpowering the poison mist jutsu. The finalized product came in that she needed to alter her chakra into a nonlethal chemical for expulsion. With that conclusion being drawn, she went back to where she sat before, slowly pulling herself into the lotus position once more. With her romp on the ground, she began to look inwards to her chakra.

Her chakra was more medicinal than anything -- it was only rarely weaponized into ninjutsu, only in the rare fights she encountered on missions would she weaponize her chakra. This being said, it was necessary to alter her chakra in the proper technique -- a weakened, albeit weaponized chakra with full intent to render victims unconscious. With proper understanding of asphyxiating gases, Akane began to meld her chakra into what she sought: an asphyxiating chemical chakra, albeit nonlethal. The issue arose when Akane came to the realization that with enough ability, one could potentially stay awake after being merely asphyxiated. With newly drawn theses, she began to look into her own self once more.

The product of her meditation was a new form of chemical chakra. It carried the effects of asphyxiation, as it was a prototype. The new chemical chakra was experimented with, and she attempted to use her new experimental jutsu: Immobilization Gas. Breathing it out over the pond, she waited carefully to see how the gas did. A squirrel, which was perched on a tree, made violent noises and fell into the pond, flailing around and choking. 'It.. it's cruel and inhumane.' she deduced, and slowly pushed the memory of the squirrel out of her head as well as she could.

Her Byakugan flickered to life, and she looked around her surroundings the best she could from where she sat. She looked over the plant life, the animal life, and the inanimate objects of the forest. She saw genin running around on dirt pathways with their jounin superior, chuunin having weak drama concerning their compatriots, and she saw animals in their summertime mating dance. She took a moment to marvel the world, looking at it through her desensitizing Byakugan as she took a moment to appreciate all the world's chakra. For a brief moment, she pondered life, the pursuit of happiness, the reason of life and the purpose of ninja in the world. Despite her philosophizing, she returned to the concern at hand: humanizing the inhumane poison mist jutsu.

It all came at once what was needed: A mere sedative. A sedative is humane, does not cause pain, and still results in the desired effect: a debilitating and effective jutsu that renders enemies unconscious. This sedative would lead to not only a humane, but even relaxing collapse of one's enemies. The lotus-positioned Akane looked inward to herself, beginning to meld her chakra into the sought form. The wad of chakra was positioned in her throat, where it would be placed for expulsion. In its final form, that is, the sedative gas, it would take on a smoky albeit silvery appearance, unlike the lethal poison mist's purple tint.

Akane slowly lifted herself from the lotus position, scanning the environment with her Byakugan. She detected a small nest of birds' chakra, which weakly pulsed in the trees. The finalized product spilled forth from Akane's mouth, breathing over the small nest of chirping birds. Abruptly, after a few moments, the chirping stopped, and all of the birds were sedated and unconscious. The jutsu worked with great efficiency! Akane slowly returned to her perch at the waterfall, and opened up her supplies. She removed a prepackaged sandwich from a bento box, following through with beginning to consume it. The medical-nin savored the meal, as it was the second meal she had eaten all day.

The tokubetsu jounin removed a scroll alongside her ink and brush. She dipped the brush into the inkwell, and looked over the scroll. She carefully wrote her agenda; in the time she spent at the waterfall, Akane would learn several jutsu concerning subterfuge, humane assassination, and efficient usage of her hydrification technique. The final product of her time spent at the waterfall would begin with hydrification techniques and end with penultimate control over her chakra. At the end of the day, Akane had accomplished one thing: she had began her path to master her chakra control, and had mastered her new jutsu: Thrust Mist Jutsu.
