Mission Title: Saving Grace Mission Rank: B Pay: 350.000 ryo Information: Akane must accompany a jounin from the Hidden Leaf and travel to the Hidden Mist. There is an important diplomat that is supposed to arrange meetings between Konohagakure and Kirigakure to discuss an alliance. Akane must arrive there quickly with their jounin company and save the diplomat from a serious injury.
Konohagakure was quiet on the day of the designated mission. After breakfast at Ichiraku, Akane made her way out of the village with the jounin band of shinobi. They were relatively quiet in their escapade from Konoha. It would take several days for them to arrive at the peninsula that led to the Hidden Mist Village, Akane's original home. 'Kirigakure. Home. At least it was before I fucked everything up.' she gave herself a monologue, making a joke out of it and chuckling. "I'm from there, you know?" she retorted to one of the experienced jounin. "I see." he dismissed. 'Stonewallin' me.'

The medical-nin healed small cuts and scratches using bandages that they may have gotten along the way, as well as blisters on the feet of the jounin company. They told their own stories, and the medical-nin -- who was completely fresh in the field of modern missions -- was left in the dark. She considered numerous things: "Would the people in Kirigakure recognize her?' Probably not, judging from how much she aged. Moreso questionable was her water bottle -- 'Would it look weird? What would the people in Kirigakure think when a tokubetsu jounin from Konohagakure sipped on a water bottle just like the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist?'

Akane, on the second day, carefully sipped on the water bottle. She had refilled it at a rest stop along the way, with a small garden patch and a dumpling restaurant. The jounin stopped for a while, not particularly alarmed about their mission -- the peace talks between Kirigakure and Konohagakure couldn't be too major, surely? The rest was enjoyable, most assuredly, but it seemed unneeded. 'Maybe jounin don't care about their village?' all in all, the pretty medical ninja made any notes about the jounin, their actions, who they were, what they wore, why they were doing what they were doing, and why they were taking so long to return home.

The fourth day came, and the medical ninja had treated a girl's poor, injured cat, who had blood-red scars running up his paw and face. Once she had healed the cat's injuries, she let it go back to the girl and smiled happily, saying goodbye to the village child. The jounin, after this, taunted the medical ninja. "Ah, got a soft heart, eh? Ever seen blood?" She was taunted by the oldest jounin. "A-Ah.. y-yes, I have seen blood. A few days ago, in fact." she answered honestly. "So, does that mean that you got in a nasty fight?" the jounin grinned widely, curious what the kunoichi had done in the field of battle. "Nasty fight..? No, no, no! I extracted blood from one of my colleagues -- he offered to donate to the Konahagakure Clinic."

The fifth day came, and they were almost to the peninsula within Kirigakure. They had passed through the border without event, displaying their reason for concern. The rendezvous point was set in the largest port city in Kirigakure that was connected to the main land mass. As they got deeper into the water country, it began to rain. While the jounin took their defense underneath umbrellas, the hydrafication kunoichi stood openly out in the rain, sipping her water bottle harder and harder in the rain. The rain became harder and harder. "Wow, I can't believe you all can't handle a little bit of rain. This isn't even that bad." the kunoichi let her hand out, and a golf ball-sized droplet slammed into her palm. It was a long downpour, much to the disbelief of the more temperate Konohagakure jounin.

The downpour continued for a day and a night, resulting in the stopping at an onsen along the way. The onsen was held inside, more like a sauna than a hot springs. The hydrification ninja was quick to leave for the onsen, paying in her own ryo, while the all-male jounin team felt insecure about being in a Kirigakure -- hidden village of mist -- onsen. While they had assumed the medical-nin had gone to sleep, they entered the onsen -- the same onsen the medical-nin was in. Rather than cover up and call them out of the onsen, she panicked, activating her hydrafication technique. She had dispelled into the water, and simply floated underneath in the steamy hot onsen.

Once she had activated her hydrafication jutsu, she floated in the water. All of the jounin had gone to their own corners and sat back, relaxed in the onsen. Time had passed and the time-taking jounin were still in the onsen. 'Grr..' she would've been blushing had she not been water. Abruptly, when they had gotten up to leave for their respective bedrooms, she clung to the backs of the jounin, her watery layer. They hadn't noticed water falling off of them when they were drying off, and falling onto the wooden floor of the onsen. Akane moved slowly, and eventually had made it to her own room, rematerializing in one piece. 'Thank goodness.'

When the morning of the sixth day had come, the kunoichi was quick to rise before all of the jounin. She had ate breakfast, gotten dressed and cleaned up, and was more than willing to get moving. She had more time to relax and play cards with the patrons of the inn before the jounin and herself set off to continue their mission. Eventually, she'd made her way to rendezvous with the ambassador from the Hidden Mist Village. The jounin were all there with her, and they had arrived in the port village in question carrying the words of the Konohagakure Kage with them. There had been an accident, and a building had been burning when they arrived. The ninja jumped into action, running quickly to the building and helping out with putting the fire out. After fire covering the door had been put out, Akane had leapt into action, pushing inside and moving to begin pulling people out.

Among the survivors of the fire was the ambassador in question, and it was apparent there was a scuffle. Alongside burns to the right side of his face, his torso and his leg, a portion of the building's ceiling and rooftop had fallen through his room, pinning him in place. When the fire was out, the medical-nin looked over his injuries. He was currently unconscious, had third degree burns along his face, torso, and leg, had a protrusion of bone emerging from his thigh, and had uncauterized leg injury that looked like raw ground beef. Firstly, she had instructed the jounin -- as a senior instructor on medicine -- to immediately apply ice to the burns on his face, torso, and undamaged leg. As he was already unconscious, it was imperative to operate quickly as to prevent him from experiencing what may very well be the worst pain in his life. Firstly, she looked over the ground-beef injury, and began to ponder.

After about a minute of deduction and reduction of what to do, the medical ninja was satisfied with her conclusion. Her first move was to deal with the injury that was stringy, exposed his fleshy muscle and his white bone. Akane opened up her medical bag, and couldn't find what she was looking for. 'Oh, dear! No, no, no!' she looked to the villagers around here. "I need a scalpel! A bonesaw! A butcher's knife, anything!" the worst option came as the local village butcher came quickly with his blade. The medical ninja took the blade and hacked down at his leg, sending splinters of bone away. If he were awake, the impromptu amputation would've been horrible. As his leg was now reduced to just above the kneecap, she could deal with the large gash on his now-stump leg. She carefully applied a tourniquet at his thigh, tightening it, as well as pushing the bone into his thigh.

Blood poured out of the stringy stump wound, and Akane worked quickly. She had applied the tourniquet and began put her hands into two different hand seals: a variant of the Ox seal, and then, Tiger. "Shousen Jutsu - Mystical Palm Technique!" Akane threw her hands down on the afflicted wound, which had a pool of blood on the ground beneath it. A green orb formed around his thigh of chakra, and it began to regenerate the stump's flesh around the grisly wound. The jounin looked in awe as they continued to press ice onto the burn marks on the ambassador. The flesh around the disgusting wound was almost healed, and when the flesh came together at the bottom of his stump leg, she moved the jutsu, carefully putting the displaced thigh bone back into place. She then lifted up, dispelling the jutsu. The medical ninja removed the tourniquet around his thigh, letting blood flow back into his now healed thigh. After the entire ordeal, they went into a separate building with the ambassador, transfused him O- blood as to save his life for certain, and finally partook in the mission's intent. While the jounin handled the task of discussing the alliance, the meetings for the future, and other necessities between their villages.
On her knees, Akane carefully wrapped the ambassador's stump leg in field dressing and tape in case the wound reopened. Afterwards, she opened up her medical bag. "This may hurt a little." she informs, removing the bottle of morphine. She dipped a senbon into the bottle, wetting it in concentrate. "I.. hope you're not afraid of needles, sir." she spoke with concern for the ambassador, and carefully pricked the needle into his arm, pressing it inside. Then, she put a small adhesive bandage over the point of injection. "Take it easy and don't try and make it up for your loss. I am sorry I could not do more." she bowed her head to the ambassador.
After the ordeal in the Port Town had finished, the jounin, now celebrating their tokubetsu jounin assistant, returned, treating her to dumplings, onsen, and promising to tell her story to their friends when they returned to Konohagakure.
